Salt Marsh Park
The Carpinteria Salt Marsh Park, located at Sandyland and Ash Avenue in the City of Carpinteria offers free docent lead tours every Saturday at 10am (rain cancels).
If you would like to volunteer there are monthly weedings and plantings on the first Saturday of the month at 10am; volunteers meet at the telescope entrance to the park. Additionally, there are opportunities to become a docent at the park. If you would like your own section of the of the park to care for, you can receive personal training.
Also, on Saturday, February 6, there will be planting near the mobilehome park at the salt marsh between 10 am and 12 pm and at the area between the tamarisks and Carpinteria Avenue between 1 and 3pm.
Bluffs Nature Park
There are also volunteer opportunities at the Bluffs Nature Park. Weeding and planting occurs at the Park on the first Saturday of the month at 1pm. Volunteers meet at the Bailard parking lot. Make sure to bring sun protection, water, gloves, and a shovel (if you have one). If you would like your own section of the bluffs to care for, you can receive personal training.
Tar Pits
Park
Weeding at Tar Pits Park occurs on the last Tuesday of the month at 10 am. Volunteers meet at the Park sign south of the railroad tracks near the end of Calle Ocho. Make sure to bring sun protection, water, gloves, and a shovel (if you have one). If you would like your own section of the of the park to care for, you can receive personal training.
