c.         Hearing on the request of William Araluce, AIA, architect for the Dorrance Way Group, LLC, owner, to consider Case Nos. 07-1366-DP/VAR/CDP/TEX, 07-1403-DP/VAR/CDP/TEX, 07-1359-DP/VAR/CDP/TEX and 07-1400-LLA/CDP/TEX [applications filed November 5, 2008] for one year time extensions to two years from the date of project approvals (January 7, 2008) to record the Lot Line Adjustment and obtain Building Permits for the projects.  The application involves APNs 003-436-017, 003-436-018 and 003-436-019, located at 4765 and 4775 Dorrance Way and 329 Holly Avenue.

                 Entry Trellises

Hearing on the request of Scott Branch, agent for Verna Carter, owner, to consider Case No. 08-1476-ARB/ENC/CDP (application filed November 12, 2008), for an Encroachment Permit and Coastal Development Permit to allow five metal trellises to encroach into the City rights-of-way along Sixth Street and Linden Avenue and eight additional entry trellises along Maple Avenue and the south side of the buildings facing the railroad tracks; and to accept the exemption pursuant to §15301(a) of the State Guidelines for Implementation of CEQA.  The properties are addressed as 5045 - 5095 Sixth Street and 550 Linden Avenue (APNs 004-105-003, 004-105-004, 004-105-007 and 004-105-008).

Hearing on the request of Justin VanMullem, agent for Nick Narang, to consider Case No. 08-1457-DPM/CDP (application filed August 6, 2008), to convert five “for sale” affordable condominiums to five “for rent” affordable condominiums at the Lavender Court Mixed Use Development; and to accept the exemption pursuant to §15061 and/or §15301 of the State Guidelines for Implementation of CEQA.  The application involves APN 004-039-011, addressed as 4646 Carpinteria Avenue.

NOTES:   Next regular Planning Commission meeting - 5:30 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2009, Council Chamber.  All actions of the Planning Commission may be appealed to the City Council.  Appeals must be filed with the City Clerk within 10 calendar days of the Commission's action.  Next appeal deadline:  5:00 p.m., December 11, 2008.
